Having driven the Mille Miglia Storica twenty times, I was curious to see how well Jim Fontana had distilled the spirit of this great event to write this novel.  In two words:  Very well!

You’ll recognize real Mille Miglia history, rearranged, and slightly changed to suit the storyline.  The car descriptions are accurate; the characters are believable.

Fontana saw the original event as a young man, and has attended the current Storica events as well.  With his keen eye for detail, and his storytelling skill, he’ll keep you pinned to your chair.  Highly recommended.
